Hibiscus is a herbal tea made as an infusion from crimson or deep magenta-coloured calyces of the roselle flower. It can be consumed both hot and cold, which makes it ideal as a refreshing summertime drink or for a delicate and warming herbal infusion during the late afternoon.

It has a tart and fruity cranberry-like flavour, and sugar or honey is often added to sweeten it.

Not only does this tea taste great, but it has many health benefits. It is caffiene free and full of vitamins. Hibiscus has also been seen to help reduce high blood pressure as well as reduce levels free-radicals in your body.

Brewing advice

Brewing Advice:

1. Use 1 teaspoon per cup

2. Heat water to roughly 95°C/203°F

3. Pour water into the cup, on top of the tea leaves

4. Add a dash of cold water or milk (if recommended)

5. Steep for 2-4 minutes

6. Enjoy
