Summer is here and we hope you are enjoying the sunny weather as much as we are. This Spring brought in new changes: most notably we now have the 2026 harvest of the 1st and 2nd Flush Darjeeling. The founder, Ratan, tasted over 800 different types of tea to get the perfect 1st Flush!
Blessing of the Tea
Each year we take some of the new year's Darjeeling 1st Flush harvest for a blessing service. In a little procession, the leaves are carried by the founder and surrounded by Tea2you staff, friends, and family, from our store in Borough Market to our next-door neighbours at Southwark Cathedral. This year we were honoured to have our tea blessed by Bishop Christopher and Rev. Canon Michael.
It's traditional in India for the first crop of that year's harvest to be blessed, as it is across many cultures. Schools across Britain often have a Harvest Festival based on the same concept: give thanks for the food (or tea!) we have on our plate and spend time with each other. It is important to us that we honour this tradition here in the UK as well. We have been going to Southwark Cathedral for nine years now.

Meet Colin – Tea2You's Writer in Residence
At Tea2You, tea has always been about more than what goes into the cup. It is about stories, friendships, and the moments of reflection that a good brew can invite. Anyone that has been to the store in Borough Market can see by the photos on the wall that the people we meet and the friends we make are very important to us.
One of these people is Colin Cameron, our new Writer in Residence. Starting simply as a regular customer, Colin became a close friend of the founder, Ratan Mondal, and they have been friends now for well over a decade. Over the years many stories have been shared over countless cups of tea. So many in fact, that Colin will now be putting pen to paper.
Colin has been writing for almost as long as he has been drinking tea ...almost. An author and writer, he shares pieces of life with (hopefully, he says) wit and a sincere appreciation for the world around him. Now he will share the stories of the events and people at Tea2you. We are honoured to have him as our Writer in Residence and look forward to his further words and observations over a cuppa!

Summer Teas
We have been serving hot cups at Borough Market for nearly 20 years, but this year we introduced our first ever cold drink. Iced Tea has arrived at the market after many requests for a cold drink alternative. Just in time for the hot weather!
Our Bermondsey store has also seen some new arrivals. While we have always had iced drinks at Spa Road, we now have a new Summer Spritz which we're fizzing with excitement about. Cold Foam has also been introduced, which is a creamy, salted honey topping to go on matcha lattes and coffees. This has been very popular!
With this sunny weather, we've seen lots of iced matcha lattes. However, we know that matcha isn't everyone's cup of tea, which is why we're excited to introduce Hojicha Powder. Matcha's brown and less-caffienated sister, Hojicha is prepared in the same way and produces a thick, earthy, and nutty brew.
